Personal Injury Compensation

Are You Entitled to Claim?

Due to the huge increase in publicity during the last few years regarding personal injury compensation, you will be aware that if you have suffered a personal injury (whether physical or psychological) and the incident which caused your injury was not entirely your fault then you have a right to claim compensation against the “wrong doer”. You will be entitled to a payment of appropriate compensation for your injuries and for any out of pocket expenses that you have incurred. There are a number of different ways in which you may suffer injury, for example in a road traffic accident, or at work, or tripping on a defective pavement, or you may be a victim of violence which has been reported to the police. Our personal injury specialist, Mr Steven Rendell-Read will be able to give you free initial advice on whether or not your potential claim is likely to succeed.

It is important to remember that the “wrong doer” is most likely to have insurance to deal with your claim, and if they have then you need not worry about being unable to recover the compensation that you are entitled to receive. Also, their insurance company will usually pay nearly all, if not all, of the legal expenses incurred in making your claim.

Claim Management Companies

Most of the advertising that you would have seen, particularly on television, will be from companies who are not solicitors and who do not have legally qualified staff, and are no more than “middle men” who will “handle” your case to the extent that they will require you to sign their contractual documents, committing you to pay whatever level of fees they decide but which are not necessarily recoverable from the wrong doer at the end of the case, and who will pass you on to their own preferred solicitors, who will probably not be in your locality. It is therefore unlikely that you will ever be able to meet the solicitor or person dealing with your case face to face, and the only form of communication will be by telephone and tedious form completion.

Norton Peskett believe that there are more benefits to you in using our specialist personal injury department, as you are likely to get a better and more efficient service from your local personal injury solicitors, and on the occasions that you do need to see us in person (which we try to keep to a minimum unless you prefer to see us regularly) then this can be arranged at a convenient time for you (including out of office hours and at your home if necessary).

As the majority of Steven Rendell-Read’s cases are conducted on a “no win no fee” basis, supported by appropriate insurance if needed, then we have the experience and knowledge to ensure that the funding of your case is planned in the right way for you.

Our Service

We have a Freephone service direct to our personal injury department on 0800 7831495 and you can also contact Steven Rendell-Read by email. In whichever form you contact us, you will be asked for a few brief details by an experienced member of staff regarding your type of accident, and we will then immediately send you a short questionnaire and stamped addressed envelope. As soon as you have returned the questionnaire, Steven Rendell-Read will be able to assess the appropriate facts and will then advise you as to whether or not your claim has reasonable, or better prospects of success.

If the claim proceeds then we use every effort to ensure that it is progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible bearing in mind the extent of your injury and the progress of your recovery.

The Cost

There will be no charge to you for all initial work necessary for us to obtain sufficient information to assess whether or not your claim is likely to succeed. If our assessment is favourable, then we will explain to you the different funding methods that are available. Although Public Funding is no longer available for personal injury claims, there are other methods of funding that can be arranged to ensure that your claim for your proper entitlement is pursued without you needing to worry about paying for your legal fees and costs. Also, you must bear in mind that upon the successful conclusion of a personal injury claim, the majority if not all of your legal fees will be paid by the insurance company representing the person or organisation responsible for your accident.
