Norton Peskett are Consumer Rights and Civil Claims Specialists
We have experience of a whole range of civil claims and disputes. These range from problems over used cars to goods and services that have caused problems.
The vast range of claims have now been transferred to the "Small Claims" jurisdiction of the County Court. This deals with claims under £5,000. Our free initial interview can usually deal with these cases and help litigants in person (which is what the courts call the person acting on their own). We explain the procedure in language you can understand and guide you through the complexities of Court procedure.
In more difficult or higher value cases we can go to Court with you.
We also are able to deal with cases where you may think that a relative’s will has not made proper provision for you. This is often the case where a close relative or partner has died and the will, perhaps because it was made some time ago, does not provide the widow or partner with sufficient to live on. These claims are made under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
We will also cover disputes in relation to shares in a property, whether that property is in one name or held jointly. It is not uncommon for one person to put money into a property which is not reflected in the legal ownership.
