Calvin joined the firm in March 2017. He graduated with a 2:1 hons LLB in Law from the University of Leeds in 1999 and then passed the Legal Practice Course with the College of Law, Store Street, London, in 2000. He began his career in London, relocating to East Anglia in 2002. After successfully completing his Training Contract with another Norfolk firm he qualified as a Solicitor in 2004. Since then, Calvin has amassed considerable experience as a Criminal Defence Solicitor, representing clients for offences from theft through to murder.
Calvin has an enviable success rate as a trial lawyer in the Magistrates’ Courts and has a loyal following in the region, particularly in the Youth Courts, which is one of his specialisms.
Calvin has a strong reputation as a technical lawyer, with a sound understanding of legislation and case law. He is always thorough and strives to achieve the best result possible for his clients. He also enjoys travelling to Courts out of the area and has represented numerous clients across the country.
Several of his cases have attracted both local and national press interest. These include being part of the team prosecuting companies responsible for the Ladbroke Grove and Hatfield train crashes. More recently he has represented individuals prosecuted for injuries caused by their dogs. Calvin has also successfully represented a client accused of robbery in Southend and another, in a high profile, multi-Defendant, murder case, in Luton.
Outside of work, Calvin enjoys spending time with his family, riding motorbikes, and playing football, cricket and golf. He has a keen interest in ice hockey and baseball and a love/hate relationship with his beloved NCFC!
